Welcome to the fictional town of Meringue Mountain, Rhode Island. Located just miles from the shore, Meringue Mountain is a small town geared toward college and tourists. Its pride and joy is its university, located right in the center of town.
An arts school, Meringue Mountain University considers itself one of the most exclusive in the country. While it does have an extremely talented student body and staff, it is fairly unknown and is largely populated by students from New England and the surrounding areas. It does have a 2% foreign student body and 15% of its students are from farther than the nearest states, but for the most part, it's not a far drive from home for any of its population.
Students must audition to get in to the University and the process is very selective. It is expensive, but the school awards hundreds of scholarships each year to students who are either unable to pay or who are exceptional. Since the school is so small and selective, some of the best programs in the country for art, film, writing, and the performing arts are available to its students. Each year, short films are nominated for prestigious festivals, awards are won, and renowned critics come to performances.
No matter what the artistic talent, Meringue Mountain has it all, from fashion to film to flutes. Welcome aboard!
NOTE: There are no actual mountains in
Meringue Mountain, Rhode Island. Or anywhere
