Sebastian's personal outlook on life is that if you can't coast through it, you're working way too hard. Calling him lazy would be an understatement; the dark-haired boy will never be the sort of person to worry about much of anything, ever. That is, unless it really, really means something to him. His logic is this: if it is meant to be, it will be, and if not, then why dwell on it? He believes that while there is a difference between being confident and just slacking off, there is no need to exert yourself too much to make something happen when there is the possibility that it could've happened on its own anyway. If he can take any kind of shortcut, if there is one available at all, Sebastian will find it, even though this does cause him to cut corners at times.
Because of this laid-back, all-play and little-work attitude, Sebastian occasionally finds himself in a little bit deeper trouble with his grades than he might, perhaps, like to be-- but, of course, he never truly focuses on this trouble, and instead optimistically shoves it to the side with the confidence that if it's supposed to be, it should fix itself. Luckily, he is not by any means dumb, and that has allowed him to make it this far, despite his friends' expressions of concern for him. His great success in the field of slacking off has led him to believe that his way of life is working out just fine, and there is no reason for him to work any harder to change it. As Sebastian would say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Though he is intelligent, Sebastian has never exactly been the quickest-witted of his peers, and occasionally it takes him a bit longer than everyone else to "get" a joke or a concept, and sometimes he needs things explained to him more than once before it fully clicks in his brain.
Socially, Sebastian tends to be a bit of a flirt, making corny jokes right and left, and doing nothing short of making a fool of himself for a laugh or to lighten the atmosphere around him. Similar to a third-grade boy pulling his female classmates' pigtails, if Sebastian teases you, you know he likes you. He's extremely light-hearted and has a great sense of humor, though he does at times find it hard to take things seriously, which can frustrate others who may need him to stop cracking jokes and listen for a change. He's very go-with-the-flow and isn't one to get worked up when plans change or something is sprung on him. He does naturally enjoy being the center of attention quite a lot, but he's not above sharing it with others when necessary. Sebastian is also extremely loyal to his close friends and loved ones; he'd do anything and fight any battle if someone he loved needed it. He'll defend his dearest friends to the death regardless of popular opinion or any reputation that might come of it.
Sebastian can also be slightly insane and frequently comes up with ridiculous schemes or outrageous ideas, for reasons ranging from solving his own or his friends' predicaments to merely having nothing to do on a saturday night. Everything seems like a great idea at the time of his coming up with it, although it might not seem that way once his ideas actually get going. He may be too lazy to focus or care when it comes to work and responsibilities, but in matters of such importance as his own hare-brained schemes, he will go to great lengths to see his plans through.
Having grown up with a background in island dancing, as well as other sorts of dance training in his older years before college, when Sebastian isn't napping, he's at the other extreme, frolicking about in some sort of odd dance routine that his feet have typically made up on the spot. He's like the lazy cheerleader; all he wants to do is eat, sleep, and survive until he grows bored of this simple existence and begins spicing things up for himself with a dance step or two. By now, of course, he has gotten quite good, and he moves with a nice rhythm and flow.. but outside of the classroom studios, it's likely that one will rarely get to witness that professional side of his talents, because when not in class, Sebastian much prefers to entertain others with silliness and ridiculous, goofy behavior.
Strengths:
• well-intentioned
even though he can be immature, annoying, or naive at times, it's important to always remember that Sebastian is ever well-intentioned. he has your best interest at heart, whether or not you feel it is, in fact, in your best interest.
• trustworthy
you can always count on Sebastian to come through; he knows where his loyalties lie and he is never the type to go back on a friend or a promise.
• talented
it cannot be denied that Sebastian is quite skilled in his major and outside of it.. both within the classroom, and as a source of immense entertainment outside of it.
Weaknesses:
• indifferent
with his laid-back attitude comes the inevitable occasion when he is just a little bit too unconcerned with what is going on around him. sometimes, it must be said, it is necessary to focus concern on something, or to have a single serious conversation amidst all of the un-serious ones-- but that necessity tends to fall on deaf ears with Sebastian.
• irresponsible
adding to the above, Sebastian's desire for the bare necessities of life to simply come to him are occasionally overridden by things like homework, which, while it will indeed come to him, will generally not complete itself for him as well.
• bad at prioritizing
because homework is clearly not as important as sneaking into an abandoned building to retrieve a long-lost taco recipe, and then sitting down to eat said tacos in front of bad reality show reruns for the next three days. these are the kinds of radiant life choices Sebastian makes.

Sebastian was born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands, specifically on the island of Kuwa'i. His home was located right beside the second-highest point on the island, at the base of Mount Waialeale, which is home to a great tropical rainforest through which he spent many a day running barefoot in his youth.
Though at first glance, Sebastian might not seem the type to be a dance major, or to ever have any sort of interest in a field like dance, it comes quite naturally to him. He grew up with the island dancers, and was taught from a young age how to sway and move with the traditional steps, and from there, his interest has branched off in many different directions, but has always come straight back to his dancing roots. He is also a fan of classical dancing, such as ballet, as well as some of the more culturally diverse dance classes that he has had the opportunity to take.
Sebastian has always been an independent thing, perhaps spawning from the way his village kept with the "it takes a village to raise a child" sort of tradition as he aged. He was always over a million different islanders' houses, and never spent a very long time at home. Nonetheless, his family has a loving relationship amongst its members, and he is quite close with his parents. After all, it is because of them that he got the opportunity to attend a place like Meringue Mountain.
Unlike the way he knew it to be in other places of the world, money was never very much of an asset in his homeland. Things like love, family, friendship, and good morals were considered much more important and indicative of success in the tight-knit society. As a result, when Sebastian was ready to emerge into the real world of school and traveling across the world to get there, he found that he didn't have much with which to do so. It was his parents that looked into getting Sebastian some sort of financial aid so that he could follow the passion they knew that he had deep down, as well as get out of the tiny bubble that he had always known and experience the world. They were the ones who made sure that this could happen for him, and for that, he will always be eternally grateful to them.| A P P E A R A N C E |
Due to his extremely laid-back nature, Sebastian isn't one to put too much effort into the way he looks. His scruffy, dark, wavy hair is left scraggling and uncombed more often than not, and, depending on how motivated he is to go for a haircut every now and then, usually falls, at its shortest, to the beginning of his neck. His dark, stormy grey eyes are nearly always lit up in amusement or jest, and his lips are most often composed into a simple, lazy sort of half-smirk, as though resting prepared for any abrupt changes in facial expression that may occur.
Having grown up beneath the beating sun of the Hawaiian islands all of his life, Sebastian's skin glistens a natural golden brown. Also aiding in his deep coloring is a bit of Indian blood that happens to run through his lineage as well. From years of dancing on the islands, Sebastian has grown into a muscular build, and stands at a rather towering 6'2. His form is quite fit, though he does tend to be a bit self-conscious about his shoulders, which are a bit broader than average. Luckily, being a dance major, and therefore being all about grace, he is able to avoid most of the clumsy incidents in which his bulkiness might otherwise hinder him.
Clothing-wise, Sebastian's style is all about comfort. Jeans and a super-soft cotton t-shirt make up his preferred day-to-day ensemble, typically in darker colors such as purples and olive greens, as he finds them more appeasing to the eyes-- his own, at least. He owns about four different pairs of jeans, and knows the minute differences between each of them, as well as their varying degrees of comfort. He doesn't need to dress fancily or in any sort of complex way-- after all, simplicity is key in every aspect of Sebastian's life, and clothing is absolutely no exception.
Sebastian's entire appearance basically resonates with the epitome of, "I slept in this last night, and no, I couldn't be bothered to change my shirt." Very much the common male stereotype in this aspect, Sebastian tends to live by a firm belief that an article of clothing does not classify as "dirty" until after at least a week of continuous wear.

Sebastian had some serious time to kill.
It wasn't as though he was stupid, or even a slacker. An intense procrastinator, maybe, but in the end, his duties were always fulfilled.. you know, eventually. When the more important things that fell above it on the hierarchy of life were completed and there was sincerely nothing better to do. Or, more realistically, when he had no choice left but to do it, other than a quite undesired alternative, such as failing.
As it were, such happened to be the case at the moment for Sebastian Bernard. He'd chosen to skip his literature class today out of absolutely desperate measures. The final draft of their most recent essay assignment was due promptly at the beginning of class-- which was in about three and a half minutes-- after which, the entire rest of the period was supposed to be dedicated to a mass peer review session concerning said essay assignment. The very essay assignment of which Sebastian had written eight sentences before promptly shoving the paper into his messenger bag in favor of a delightful afternoon swim over a week ago. It was a decent excuse, Sebastian felt, considering how beautiful the weather had been that day; it would have been nothing short of sin to stay inside and write an essay when the rays of sun were desperately calling his name.
However, as procrastination tends to go, he had not looked at the assignment, nor given it the benefit of another thought since that date. Upon realizing today that it was due, around twenty minutes before the fact, Sebastian had concluded that his teacher simply could not expect Sebastian's essay at the beginning of class if the class were never to technically begin for Sebastian. True to his nature, he did not offer it a second's more worry, and had immediately abandoned any proximity to the classroom.
It was for this situation that Sebastian was now entering into the small coffee shop across the grounds with the intention of remaining there until the class in question was concluded. This was certainly all well and good, in theory, until Sebastian had retrieved his drink order from the counter and ventured into the seating area, only to discover that there were no available tables left at which to commence his hideout. Furrowing his brows, Sebastian didn't miss a beat before immediately seeking out the most accepting-looking coffee-goer with which to share his presence. Looking around, he immediately zeroed in on the first person whose table looked as though it had enough table space to suit him.
Striding up to the table, he plopped his things down unceremoniously beside whoever's it was that was sitting there as well, and pulled out the chair opposite them with one arm, leaning against it casually.
"Mind if I join ya?" He inquired, his trademark adorably goofy grin lighting up his face, and his stance giving off the impression that it was less of a request for permission as it was a rhetorical declaration of his intentions.| P L A Y E R |
