Will is a jokester. He is extremely sarcastic and witty and has a smart aleck response for pretty much everything. He does not have much of a filter between his mouth and his mind, so he tends to get himself in a bit of trouble at times. Will is a smooth talker and believes he can talk his way into and out of anything. He is extremely outgoing and loves talking to people, especially females.
Will got the job of professor after being a TA and is not too sure about this whole boss thing, which is why he has the class he does. His optimistic outlook on life lends well to his bonding with his students, and his laid-back nature makes him very approachable. It takes a lot to worry Will, and that does not happen often. That said, he does truly care about his students and will go out of his way to help them succeed. He does not do as well with the whole authority aspect, considering the fact that he never really listened to authority when he was their age. It is actually a miracle that he managed to graduate college at all, much less achieve a master’s degree.
A talker by nature, Will loves meeting and chatting with people. He finds talking with students to be the best part of teaching, and it comes naturally to him. He tries to connect with people within the first few minutes that he meets them, because that is just the way he works. His father, Spencer, has tried to teach him about people who lie and all that police stuff, but all it has done is given Will strategies to use when he creates his own “fables”.
Will is a big fan of the opposite sex, and his smooth talking and charisma definitely feeds into this. He is a serial dater and has a very hard time staying in long-term relationships. He gets bored very easily and tends to bounce from one type of woman to another. He tries not to hurt them, but nine times out of ten he is doing the dumping, and feelings cannot always be spared. Will has no preferences in terms of girls, so long as they are not underage and are fairly attractive. He may love the ladies, but he will drop them for one of his guy friends, because he believes in “bros before hos”. For the most part.
Strengths: Creativity. It takes a very creative mind to come up with the sort of BS Will can strike up. He can create a believable back-story to pretty much anything. If only he used that power for good…
Charisma. Love him or hate him, Will is one charming little bugger. He can talk his way into or out of most situations, and has the ability to make people feel at ease with him fairly quickly.
Intelligence. Will may be a bit of a slacker, but he is highly intelligent. He gets bored easily unless his mind is entertained, which is why he tends to get himself into trouble on a regular basis.
Weaknesses: Confidence. Will’s confidence borders on arrogance. He thinks he’s the most suave person out there, and he also thinks that everyone falls for his charm. Which is not true, sad to say.
Flakiness. Will is not very good at commitment. He has an incredibly short attention span and tends to leave things unfinished, relationships included.
Listening. More than the “typical” man, Will is an absolutely dreadful listener. He tries, but he soon thinks he knows what is best for whomever he is talking to and immediately tells them what he thinks. Naturally this irritates people often.

William Dane Baxter was born to Spencer and Jane Baxter, and he was their only child. Will spent the first fifteen years of his life in Santa Barbara, California. When he was fifteen, his mother died in a robbery and his father promptly quit the police force in Santa Barbara. Spencer decided that life in California was too rough for his son, and the pair moved all the way across the country to Providence, Rhode Island. Needless to say, Will was not very happy with the move. He was never really close to his father and partly blamed him for his mother’s death, even though Spencer was not on duty and could have done nothing to prevent it. The move prompted Will to rebel, becoming more of a smart aleck and free spirit than before. He skipped class, flitted from job to job, and even stole his father’s car once or twice. Spencer was exasperated and finally laid down the law to his son: either he could go to the local college, or he had to find his own money, own apartment, and own job.
Will did not particularly like the sound of a full-time job with responsibilities, so he took Spencer’s offer and went to college. He switched his major a total of nine times in his freshman year before his academic advisor grew irritated with him and suggested liberal arts. It was not until a required economics class at the end of his sophomore year that Will found his interest piqued in something. He found the exchange of money and goods fascinating—very odd, considering the fact that he rarely ever had enough money to exchange for said goods—and decided to major in economics.
Once Will graduated, he had absolutely no idea what to do with his degree. He could have joined some financial firm, but that would mean dressing up in a suit and working in an office—two things completely un-Will. In order to delay the inevitable, he convinced Spencer to help him pay for graduate school and he entered a Masters program. He would have taken his sweet time completing the program, but Spencer had recently retired and therefore had more free time to irritate his son. Will graduated in the middle of his class right on time.
Once he had his degree, Will realized he had no other choice but to find a job. It was pure luck when a friend from grad school told Will about a faculty position opening at the tiny arts school of Meringue Mountain University, considering that he had been a TA all through grad school. He figured he would just bluff his way into a beginning photography professor position, and was flabbergasted when they asked him to teach economics. He jumped at the chance, and the rest, as they say, is history.| A P P E A R A N C E |
Will is about 6’2” and pretty fit. He is always in jeans and a t-shirt or button-down, unless he’s forced to dress up or finds a way to make a crazy costume work to his advantage. Will pretty much always has a smirk on his face, and he leans against tables/counters/walls with his hands in his pockets.
Will always has a necklace on, and its design varies. He has a tattoo on his upper right shoulder of a tribal symbol. It has a specific meaning, but Will lies and claims he cannot remember what it was supposed to symbolize. He usually has stubble on his face because most of the time he is too lazy to shave, and he thinks it gives him a “rugged” look. He never wears a watch and never knows what time it is.
