Major/Concentration Information Technology

Logan the Teacher is still a work in progress. She knows that a teacher is supposed to be caring, compassionate, nurturing, and other things of that nature. Sadly, this does not come naturally to Logan. She is that teacher in school that you absolutely hate but (much to your chagrin) actually taught you something. If you want to learn and are willing to push yourself to your limits, you will get along just fine. If not, watch out.
Logan the Network Administrator is a cruel, cruel mistress. Obey the Technology Usage Rules and Logan will never bother you. Step over the line, though, and you better be ready for a fight. When it comes to her precious network, Logan has a three strike policy: One strike gets you banned for a month; Two strikes gets you banned for a semester; Three strikes gets you banned forever. If you break something and need Logan’s help, she will attempt to be patient and show you how to avoid future problems. Do it again and she may not be as patient. Yes, she is watching you…and you should be ashamed of yourselves…
When the job is done and the night is young (or morning whichever the case may be) Logan is in the mood to party! Even though she’s one of the "older" staff members, she never quite grew past her ‘college mentality’ phase. You can expect to see her at Lucky's or the Tidal Wave buying rounds and dancing on tables or hunkered down in the computer lab LAN-partying it up.
Logan likes to win and tends to do so quite often. Unfortunately, that goes hand in hand with her enjoyment of bragging and talking smack while winning. Don't be too put off, though. Ask nicely and she'll buy you a pint after the match. Relationship wise, Logan believes that it doesn’t matter who you’re with or what gender they are, so long as the night is good. This, and reluctance to truly trust someone, have kept her from keeping long term relationships.
Likes:
Alcohol, whiskey in particular: Give Logan a bottle of Jack Daniels Black Label and you will have a friend for life…or at least until the bottle runs out. This particular vice has allowed her to socialize with many of the students who would otherwise be wary of her teacher status.
Programming: Logan is well versed in Assembly, Unix, C, C++, C#, VB.Net, Java, HTML, PHP, ASP, Javascript, Asp, and SQL. She only codes web pages in Notepad; GUI’s are for sissies.
Video Gaming: FPS, RPG, Sim, MMO, you name it, Logan has probably played it. Her favorite games tend to be older PC, NES, or SNES era games or extremely violent modern games. She’s always up for a challenge and can often be found playing (and destroying) students on various network games.
Loud Music: Logan will listen to just about anything (Country music being the exception) with the general rule of thumb being the louder, the better.
Smoking: Although she has cut back recently…at least while Iris is around.
Hates:
Mac’s and any technology/software created by Apple: Logan despises Macs. DESPISES THEM!! From the inability to easily (or at all) upgrade the hardware to the way I-Tunes takes over all aspects of the OS the second it gets installed.
People who act like they know more than she does: You know why? Because chances are they’re wrong.
Sports Gaming: Ugh…unless its unrealistic like Blitz or Looney Tunes Basketball you probably won’t find Logan playing a sports game. She finds them boring and would rather be shooting someone.
Fears:
Tragedy befalling Iris: If anything serious were to happen to Iris, Logan isn’t sure what she would do. Her daughter means everything to her, even if they don’t see eye to eye on many things and tend to fight often.
Trust: Logan doesn’t like let people beyond the friend or best friend level. She believes this is due to bad relationship choices early in life.
The school gets rid of all its PC’s and decides to only use Macs: This truly is the definition of Hell.
Goals:
Create a cybernetic eye: Aside from normal vision, it will also grant the user X-ray vision
Eventually have a son: While she may not admit it, part of her feels obligated to continue the family naming tradition.
Open an arcade: After Iris goes off to college of course…Logan has had her eye on Playdium for years
Strengths
Independent: While this may be seen as a weakness, Logan prides herself in being able to meet her objectives without needing to rely on others.
Resourceful: While Logan never resorts to cheating, she will find many ways to complete her goals and make your life a living hell if you think you can beat her.
Diligent: Logan didn't get to where she is now by being lazy and taking the easy way through life.
Weaknesses
Trust Issues: Don't expect to get too close to Logan unless she's trashed and there's no way she's going to remember the incident in the morning.
Pride: Logan hates to lose, especially when she knows that she's better than you.
Self Destruction: Many of Logan's actions can be perceived as self destructive. They're obviously not because she doesn't think they are.

FATHER: Logan Fairfax VIII, 65 retired musician
MOTHER: Xiomara Fairfax, 25 (deceased)
SIBLINGS: None
OTHER FAMILY: Iris Fairfax, 16 (daughter)
HISTORY:
Birth & Early Life
The Fairfax family has an old tradition when it comes to naming their children: the first born son will carry name ‘Logan Fairfax’ and pass it on to their first born son. This naming convention was going fine for 8 generations when a car crash threatened to stop the tradition. Xiomara died shortly after the accident but doctors were able to save her daughter.
And thus, Logan Fairfax IX entered the world one month premature and 2 lbs underweight. She spent her childhood in the northern suburbs of Chicago and accompanied her father when the orchestra he played in traveled. Due to the amount of travel, Logan's father decided it would be best to home school her. This worked well until Logan turned 14. Her father decided she needed to go to school with children her age prior to attending college.
High school was a largely forgettable period in Logan’s life. The only good thing that happened was when her father bought her a Nintendo Entertainment System. Making 8-bit Mario defeat Bowser and rescue the Princess shaped Logan’s eventual career decision in ways that no amount of time in the classroom could.
College
During college, two life changing events happened in the story of Logan IX. No, moving to Milwaukee, attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering for five years, or the double major in Computer and Software Engineering, while also important, weren't one of those events.
The first life changing event occurred during her first year at school. Logan makes up a different story whenever anyone asks how she lost her eye. The only consistent detail is that she lost it sometime during her freshman year.
The second life changing event was the birth of Logan’s daughter, Iris. Iris was born during Logan’s Junior year. Logan chose not to marry the father due to differences of opinion. She occasionally tells people he’s dead. Iris’ entrance into her life caused Logan to reevaluate the way she was living and what she would need to change now that she was caring for another life. Reevaluate, mind you; not exactly change. Luckily, her friends were always willing to babysit when Logan needed to attend classes or parties.
The In-Between Years
After college, Logan and Iris moved around constantly. Logan did freelance work for then booming technology companies. By the time Iris was 7, the pair had lived in 31 out of 50 states. They were quite well off, although Logan realized moving around so much was taking its toll on Iris. She swore to find consistent work that would allow her to stay in one place.
Then the Dot-com bubble burst. Logan found herself unemployed and unemployable thanks to saturation. Plans to settle down would have to wait.
Meringue Mountain University
When Iris turned 10, Logan decided it was time to try again (try being the key word in that statement.) While visiting her father, who had retired to England, he suggested the two move in until she found stable work. They accepted and moved in a month later. Logan continued free lancing websites and software for a year before the network administrator position became available at Meringue. Logan saw this as a win/win situation; not only could she have a stable job, but Iris would also be able to go to a private college should she choose to.
The two moved back to the states and Logan began her first year at Meringue. At first Logan was only hired to perform technology related duties. She helped modernize the school by retooling their wiring plans, adding and maintaining the onsite PCs, Macs, and servers, and establishing Meringue's intranet, blogs, and websites. After two years, the previous Technology teacher retired, but not before encouraging Logan to take his place. She grudgingly agreed and, after four annoying years, obtained her PHD. She’s still working on the teaching aspect of her life with mixed results.
When Iris turned 14, she was accepted to a prestigious art school in England. She is currently living with her grandfather; Logan visits when she can. This is Logan’s fifth year at Meringue.| A P P E A R A N C E |
When most people meet Logan, the there are a couple things that may catch their attention. They may choose to take out a measuring stick and find out that stands exactly 5’10” without heels. Likewise, they may get out measuring tape and find that Logan is slim and in shape (all thanks to her Wii and Kinect.) Some people notice that Logan has long blond hair, almost always worn down and out of her face because she is to lazy to do anything fancy with it. If one were to see Logan without her clothes on, their eyes would probably be drawn to her large tattoo collection: Back | Sternum/chest/upper torso | Left outer thigh | Right leg/ankle
What no one ever notices about Logan is that she only has one eye, which is a lovely shade of blue by the way. Seriously, look at her face; the eye patch over her right eye is barely visible. Once people find out about this boring tidbit, they certainly don’t stare, ask questions, or make pirate jokes because that would be mean/rude. And if they did, Logan certainly wouldn’t kick their asses, because that would also be mean/rude.
Dress wise, it is rare to see Logan in anything but a pants suit and heels. Her clothing is almost all black, grey, brown, or a mixture of the three. She also has at least one eye patch to match her outfits, but usually defaults to the completely black patch. Aside from the patch, Logan always wears a small golden locket with a picture of Iris in it.

Half a pack for one flask of booze seemed like a good deal to Logan. She waved her cigarette in the air, indicating the flask. “Do what? I found this flask, for all I know its yours. You’re just a nice guy, so you’re giving me a reward for finding it.” Logan gave Aiden a rather pointed look out of the corner of her eye. The boy didn’t striker her as particularly bright. She hoped the look conveyed a general sense of “No, Im not allowed to give you alcohol in exchange for cigarettes you moron. If we get caught I’m going to catch six different kinds of hell, which will then be transferred to you.”
Logan tapped the bench next to the flask. “Cigarettes first, boy. Then its all yours.” She watched the boy for a moment. Nicotine fix abated for the time, Logan’s mind switched into information gathering mode. Without being obvious, she sized Aiden up, drawing conclusions from his posture, attitude, and speech. Anger issues, probably impulsive, standoffish, probably loyal if you managed to scratch beneath the…thick exterior. His dream form was probably a shadow or an exact copy of himself; something unimaginative like that.
Logan shifted her focus back to Raine, giving the girl a quick once over. She wasn’t that bad looking, perhaps a little plain, not necessarily in a bad way. She seemed to be aware of it though, and at least didn’t draw attention to it. Logan gave her a point for that. Artsy, probably likes to spend time alone, keeps her mind to herself, probably has a lot of guy friends. Chances are, her dream from was an elf, sprite, or some nature themed being like the Headmaster’s.
“No offense taken.” Logan replied when Raine spoke to her. “I know perfectly well what these are doing to my body.” she took another drag, letting the smoke out in a slow stream. “All the more reason to become cybernetic.” Logan gave the girl a sly smile. “And undressing someone with your imagination is an art. There are so many different types of bodies.”
Logan held the cigarette away from her mouth. She held it in a line with Raine’s head. “I find its easiest to start with the hair.” Logan waved the cigarette, using it like a laser pointer. She began moving it slowly down Raine’s body, outlining various areas. She traced Raine’s frame, adding or removing articles of clothing, “Next you have to decide what level of undress you’d like: full, tease, partial, classy. Angles, lighting…” Logan continued moving the imaginary pen down Raine’s body. “…color, shape, perhaps you’d like to include a tattoo or embellish a little.” Logan drew a circle around her imaginary Raine drawing. “See?”| P L A Y E R |
