Bright and cheery, Anna is up for really anything. She is energetic and positive and loves spreading her good mood to others. She was brought up in a poorer home and was taught to appreciate everything she has, and she still does that. Anna is a hard worker and tries to do her best in everything, as cliché as that may be.
Because of her parents’ immigrant status, Anna has been raised with a love of both the United States and Ireland. She has never been to the country because her parents could never afford it, but she has spoken extensively to her extended family and is very close to them. Her parents strived to teach her a good work ethic, and Anna does not respond well to favors or “charity”.
A complete goofball, Anna loves making people laugh. She does not really care about making a fool of herself, and will be silly to make someone feel better without a second thought. She was not so much the class clown in school, but more of a silly kid who would make a face instead of tell a joke. It is rare to catch Anna smiling in a picture, because the second the shutter closes she has made an odd face or gave someone bunny ears. If someone does not have a sense of humor, they would not do well in Anna’s company.
Anna does not like to share everything about herself, despite how chatty she is. She is more than willing to talk about her family and some other details, but there are some things she keeps to herself, and it will take a lot to get it out of her. She trusts fairly easily, but she has a good judge of whom she can tell everything to and whom she cannot. Anna loves surrounding herself with people and being social. She hates not doing anything and tries to keep herself constantly busy. She loves her job at the library because she gets to talk to people and surround herself with books. Anna is a big reader and carries a book everywhere with her, reading whenever she has a spare minute or two.
Anna’s lifelong dream is to be a singer on Broadway. Her all-time favorite musical is Wicked, as is her favorite book. She always has her iPod with her and it is filled to the brim with show tunes. That being said, she enjoys nearly any type of music and her iPod is like a record store in and of itself. She loves singing and can often be found humming without really realizing it. Anna is holding off on auditioning for shows until she finishes her Master’s degree. Once completed, she plans to move to New York City and audition her little heart out. Her biggest hope is to be cast as Glinda in Wicked like one of her favorite Broadway actresses, Kristin Chenoweth.
Part of the reason why Anna cannot concentrate on one thing at a time is her ADD. She was diagnosed at age seven, and takes medication to help with her concentration and focus…when she remembers it. She struggles to finish her work in one sitting and constantly takes breaks, switching between activities at a rapid pace. This can be quite annoying to people, but Anna does not care, seeing as she cannot really control it. She managed to graduate college at the top of her class and hopes to complete her graduate work the same way.
Strengths: Optimism. Definitely a sunshine and rainbows, glass half full kind of person, Anna believes in the positive and tries to find the best in every situation. She also tries to convince those around her that life really is beautiful.
Simplicity. Anna is not simple mentally. Rather, it does not take much to impress her or amuse her. She is happy with what little she has, and does not really respond well to flashiness or extravagance.
Friendliness. No matter what circumstance she meets them, Anna is friendly to anyone she comes into contact with. Her mother once told her, “Be kinder than necessary to everyone. They're all fighting some sort of battle”, and she tries her best to live up to that.
Weaknesses: Non-committal. Anna pretty much agrees to anything and never gives a straight opinion. Making her choose something definitely or getting a view from her is like pulling teeth.
Chattiness. Anna likes to talk. A lot. She can be quite annoying and does not really know when to shut up.
Attention Deficit Disorder. Anna has the attention span of a fly. She rarely ever stays at one activity for longer than five minutes, and has an extremely hard time focusing.

Patrick Sheppard had big dreams of escaping from his tiny hometown of Jamestown, Ireland, to become a chef in the United States. However, as the son of a blacksmith, Patrick never got the opportunity to further his education. He dropped out of school at the age of fifteen to help out in his father’s shop. He never let go of his cooking dream and became nearly obsessed with everything American.
At the age of twenty-one, Patrick married his childhood sweetheart Claire Butler and the couple moved into a small cottage on the outskirts of town. Patrick took on a second job in the local pub and saved every penny he could. It took five years, but they couple finally had enough money to make it over to the United States, and they settled into Fall River, Massachusetts. Patrick took a job in one of the local restaurants as a dishwasher, and Claire helped out in the church preschool. Patrick would end up becoming manager, and Claire never stopped in the preschool.
About a year after they immigrated, Claire and Patrick had a daughter they named Annaleigh. She and younger brother Shea were born within ten months of each other, called “Irish twins”. Because of their close birthdates, Shea and Anna became best friends and as close as true twins. Claire quickly gave up trying to explain why the two of them were in the same class but one was older than the other and did not correct people when they called the children twins. The two shared a room in the family’s small house and even shared a car at legal driving age.
Both were very into music, with Shea pursuing drums and Anna flocking to singing. They were sent to the local public schools because they were free. Anna excelled over her brother in academics while Shea easily became the athlete of the family, and both were very outgoing and friendly. They had a large group of friends and loved high school. Shea joined the drum line almost instantly and found a love for government and history, while Anna immersed herself in drama and choir, with an academic inclination towards languages and psychology. She took French all four years of high school and even received college credit for the French Advanced Placement exam.
Anna made the top choir by her sophomore year and found a deep attachment to musical theatre. While trying to decide what college to go to, she managed to narrow it down to Juilliard and New York University. Her parents were hesitant about each school because of their cost, and Anna pursued every scholarship she could get information on. She ended up getting enough money to completely pay for three years of school at either institution, and chose NYU because of how much they immersed their students in the theatre world. Anna kept a job at a local children’s theater teaching singing lessons and managed to pay for her final year of college with a very small student loan. Her parents were able to help out a bit more because Shea went into the military his sophomore year of college, and that took care of his tuition costs.
Anna graduated at the top of her class, but decided she needed her Master’s degree before she could pursue her dream of being on Broadway. She was tempted to go through NYU once again, but was afraid of being lost in the crowd of students this late in her academic career. She finally decided on tiny Meringue Mountain University, and applied to be in their graduate program and become a teacher’s assistant. She now TAs Sight Singing I, and loves it.| A P P E A R A N C E |
Anna is a petite woman, just barely reaching 5’1”. She has long blonde hair that is straight, but she tries to curl it often for a change of pace. Anna enjoys running, so her body is in pretty good shape. She enjoys being outside and has a natural tan…though she has been guilty of going the fake ‘n bake route every once in a while.
Anna loves fashion, but is used to getting her clothes from Target/Ross/various other low-cost clothing stores because she grew up with very little money. She loves bright colors, though she is intimidated by loud patterns. She always matches her earrings to her outfit and usually accessorizes with a bracelet or necklace, in addition to her silver watch, which is her prized possession.
In terms of facial features, Anna has nothing really remarkable. The only scars she has are on her knees, where her brother shoved her off her bike and she had to get a total of seventy stitches between the two knees. She was blessed not to receive the Irish freckles the rest of her family received and has a clear complexion. The only thing “different” about her is that when she is angry or sad, her eyes go from shocking blue to stormy gray.
