Felicity is, admittedly, not an easy person to get along with. She never had been and likely never will be. She is absolutely dedicated to her job and generally nothing comes in the way of that. She had high aspirations for her life and intended to be a famous journalist, which led to her completely absorbing herself into what she was doing. When she's in the middle of working on something, she becomes completely closed off to the world around her and generally won't acknowledge the existence of anyone at all. She has the utmost of dedications to her job and no matter what it is, she puts everything into it. Even if it's something rather small and unimportant, she's just as passionate about it as the bigger things. Though, much less impressed with it.
Felicity tends to remove herself from people as much as possible, making her seem to be very anti-social. Which, technically, wouldn't be too far from the truth. She rarely goes out to meet people and tends to prefer just sitting on her own and working on this or that than being out and about. As far as she's concerned, people are quite the hassle and cause too much trouble in one's life to really want to have them around. She'll chat with her coworkers, but it mostly would be about work and rarely would go outside of just seeing each other in the hallways. On the few occasions that she does venture outside of her own abode, she tends to be very uncomfortable and will only speak when spoken to and even then, it's very limited.
Because she's so reserved, she often tends to come across as a bit of a bitch. At times, she can be a terrible bitch, but typically only when annoyed. Most people interpret her less than friendly manner quite wrongly. It's not that she's trying to be a bitch (usually) it's generally just that she doesn't really have the people skills. When on the job and interviewing people, she's an absolute doll to be around, but as soon as it's over, she drops right back into her typical sullen manner. She's quite adamant about the fact that the death of her fiancée has absolutely nothing to do with it, but it does. She was much more easygoing around people when he was around and now has reverted back to having little to no people skills.
At the very least, Felicity has a rather strict set of manners and can be quite respectful. She knows how to act, it's just a matter of her actually deciding to follow through with that knowledge. She has the ability to come off as perfectly pleasant and mannerly and tends to act that way around her colleagues. She's often a different person around the people that she works with, since she tends to feel as if they're worth the trouble to be at least somewhat friendly to. Though, if she thinks that you're a waste of time, than she tends to be much more curt and probably won't bother to give you the time of day.
Felicity is a very judgmental person and is constantly evaluating everyone that she talks to. She hates being out in the real world a lot of the time, since anyone that she deems as remotely unintelligent or annoying tends to get on her last nerve. She has a very high set of standards that she holds people to and anyone that falls under them essentially means nothing to her. When it comes to those people, she tends to be very exasperated until they give up and go away. However, she will rarely be outright bitchy towards them unless they really get on her nerves. Sometimes, with Felicity, it's almost as if you're prodding a bear with a stick to see how much it can take before it eats you.
Although she tends to be hard on other people, Felicity is much worse on herself. She doesn't accept anything less than absolute perfection from anything that she does and will scrap and redo any piece of writing that isn't up to her standards. She tends to expect the same from any of her students and probably isn't the favorite of teachers, simply because she's so harsh when it comes to grading papers. However, she's always willing to give advice on how to improve if any of her students ask for it and isn't quite so bad as a good lot of them tend to think. Well, if you're good at least.
Though most people will never come to realize it, Felicity has an absolute bleeding heart. As cold as her exterior may be, she tends to take absolute pity on anyone that actually deserves it. It was because of this that she ended up taking her fiancée's daughter in and why she took the job at Meringue Mountain. She's the type that will attempt to play it off as though she does not give a damn, but in the end will generally cave in and help whoever needs her help. Stray puppies, lost freshman, anyone like that, tends to get her very worked up and she'll turn into the doting mother type. Of course, she absolutely refuses to admit to this trait and if called out on it will and deny it.
Strengths:
Thorough- Felicity is the person you would want to do something for you, since she does everything way more intensely than generally needs to be done. She's very thorough when grading papers, researching, writing, well, just about with everything.
Dedicated- Fel is more into her work than most people ever should be and is quite knowledgeable on anything related to writing, reporting, journalism, the news, all that good stuff. She spends just about every spare moment of her time on her job and she loves it.
Caring- The last thing expected of Felicity is how absolutely caring she can be. She genuinely cares for her students and her family and would do anything for the lot of them if they really needed it. But, she won't be the type to go out and offer her help to people.
Weaknesses:
Cold- Fel has a very cold exterior and tends to turn people off from talking to her. If at all possible, she likes to keep to herself and will shy away from the majority of the people around her.
Perfectionist- In some cases, being a perfectionist can be a good thing, but Felicity takes it to a completely different level. She's the type of person that will sit there for hours and redo the same thing over and over, simply because it's not up to her standards.
Judgmental- Though she won't admit it, Felicity tends to judge everyone that she comes into contact with. Typically, this tends to lead to her being a tad critical of most people and mostly in a negative way.

Felicity was born in Atlanta, Georgia to an extremely wealthy family. Her parents were both well renowned doctors, each with a specialty in neurosurgery. Due to their pressing jobs, they weren't around much while Felicity was small. For the most part, she was raised by their butler and her grandparents, which she was perfectly content with. If anything, it kept her life perfect and herself living in the lap of luxury. However, her parents were the type that wanted to ensure that she grew up right. As opposed to being allowed to just do as she pleased, Felicity was raised with a strict set of rules. They let her branch out into some things that a normal child would do, but for the most part she was raised to be very high-class. Her typical day wasn't filled with things like playing in the sandbox or coloring on the walls, but with learning new languages and how to interact in social settings. Essentially, they were breeding her to be the perfect, proper young lady and that was just what she came to be.
Throughout her younger years, Felicity took to her studies with ease. Just like her parents, she had a gift for learning that enabled her to develop a real passion for it. While most kids may have been turned off by the idea of growing up in such an environment, Felicity wouldn't have had it any other way. Even as a small child, Felicity's life goals were set high above the norm for her age and that was how it remained for the rest of her life. She was engrossed with reading and particularly with writing, a trait which her parents were quite happy to let flourish. They wanted nothing more than for their daughter to follow in their footsteps and pursue a life of excellence.
Entering into school, Felicity became a bit of an outcast. She didn't share the same interests as most kids her age, preferring to watch the news or the history channel as opposed to any frivolous cartoons. Her teachers, recognizing her innate talent, were eager to help her move ahead in school. So, that was when Felicity began to work at an accelerated pace. Her parents were happy to put her into a private school, designed to help her talents to grow and expand and Felicity felt like she belonged there. Surrounded by some of the best and brightest of her age group, Felicity finally felt like she was getting the challenge that she needed and it was this drive that helped her to compete and strive to be the best. This was where she stayed for the remainder of her grade school, with a tight group of people that all had ambition to do great things with their lives.
With her accelerated path in school, Felicity graduated from high school by the time that she was sixteen. From there, she chose to follow in the footsteps of her parents and pursue a degree at the University of Georgia. Unlike her parents, however, Felicity was less interested in the sciences, but in other things, namely writing. Her declared major when she signed on at the University of Georgia was journalism. It wasn't quite along the lines of what her parents had pushed her towards, but it was something that they deemed decent enough to pursue. College, just like high school, was a place that Felicity came to love. Mentally challenging herself was something that she came to live for and her studies absorbed her more than anything. Se was much less adequate in the social realm, but her intelligence and dedication to her line of study was rather astounding. Felicity stuck with her career path, finishing college and earning her master's degree rather quickly.
She graduated at the top of her class and was instantly the target of a number of recruiters, offering jobs that might interest her. Felicity was more than ready to set out into the world and begin her chosen career. She had worked a few odd jobs for the local paper while in college, but now she was ready for the big leagues. Felicity wanted to be the one out there investigating the big news stories and sending reports to various newspapers or perhaps even news stations. She liked to think she was attractive enough to be on television, anyways, so that certainly wasn't an option that she was going to rule out. Besides, she was still considerably younger than most people going into her profession, so she had plenty of time to sort out the precise details of what she wanted to do.
Though she had a number of offers locally, the one that stood out to her the most was the offer that came in from New York. It wasn't a major position, but it was away from home. As much as she loved being home, it was more than time for her to get away from her parents and start to live on her own. The job, a simple writing position for a smaller local paper, was good enough to move there for and the pay would give her a decent enough apartment to live in while she was there. So, Felicity took the job and moved to New York to start her career as a hardcore journalist.
However, she came to find that her first job was much less exciting than she had hoped. Sure, she was doing what she loved, but it wasn't nearly at the level that she wanted to be. She knew that she wasn't going to be getting the hard hitting stories just out of school, but covering local parades and stupid awards for small children just wasn't going to cut it for her. She had high expectations for herself and this certainly wasn't going to fulfill them. Felicity wanted something more for herself and she was quite determined to go out and get it. Though she retained her current position and did every job to the best of her ability, she started to venture out and actively search for a job with the more important news companies.
One of the first places that she stopped was the local news station. Perhaps it wasn't a huge network that would take her on, but it was definitely a step in the right direction and they were looking for fresh blood. It was there that Felicity met Dean. Felicity had passed her interview with flying colours and had a rather impressive resume for someone as young as she was, quickly leading to her earning a position on the team of reporters there. Dean was the senior reporter and her boss, so she worked quite frequently with the man. At first, it was simply a matter of speaking to him on the job, but when he asked her on a date, it turned into something different.
Felicity had never been one to turn down any sort of advantage that she could get and if there was a way to get ahead, than you damn well knew that she was going to take it. She had never really seen herself as the type that would go out with a man just to get ahead, but when it came down to it that's exactly what she did. She let Dean take her out for dinner and that was that. At first, it was a matter of convenience. He liked taking her out and she liked the fact that it was helping her career to get close to him. However, the more time that they spent together, the more she came to genuinely enjoy his company. He changed from being simply a mentor into someone that she actually cared for. She had never intended to fall for anyone, let alone her boss, and especially not someone that was thirteen years her senior.
With Dean's help, Felicity managed to move ahead far enough at that job to transfer over to a new job with a different network. It was on a slightly larger scale and the fact that she was starting to move up in her life was something that she was more than happy about. Not to mention, now that she wasn't working for the previous job, she was free to see Dean as much as she liked and not worry about any repercussions from it. For the next two years, Felicity was happily employed and even more happily in a relationship. It was a bit odd dating someone that was that much older than her, but she came to be quite used to it. Though, it was always a tad strange when his daughter was around. Dean had previously been married and had a daughter that was in high school. Considering the fact that Felicity was hardly just out of college and closer in age to his daughter than to him, it was always a bit of a tense situation when they were all together. However, she came to deal with it just fine.
By the time that she had turned twenty-four, Dean had asked Felicity to marry him. Though she was a bit hesitant at first, she accepted his proposal and the two eagerly took to planning their wedding. However, the wedding was not to happen. Though generally a fairly tame job, there were times when Dean's work as a reporter got dangerous. While out investigating rumors of a robbery, Dean found himself caught up in a hostage situation at a local convenience store. When the robbers saw that he was attempting to film the situation and take notes, they shot him. When Felicity got the call, she was told that he had died quickly and that he had suffered little. That did nothing to help relieve her suffering, however.
The funeral was held shortly after the incident and quickly thereafter Dean's will was read. Much to Felicity's surprise, the majority of his wealth went to her, with the condition that she look after his daughter. Admittedly, Felicity balked at the idea. She wasn't yet twenty-five and here he was asking her to look after his sixteen year old daughter as if she were her own? Admittedly, she had grown to be quite fond of the girl in the time they had spent together, but to be the sole caregiver of the girl would be a much different experience. However, Felicity also knew that the girl had nowhere else to go. In the following weeks, they worked out the necessary paperwork and Felicity became the official guardian of Dean's daughter.
What with everything that had happened, Felicity's zest for her career had lost it's previous spark. As well, she was still get used to living only with Dean's daughter in the house. Honestly, she didn't think that she was really cut out to be a mother figure to the young girl. However, when she was ready to go off to college, Felicity felt unsure about it. The girl had taken the loss of her father hard and had taken to Felicity even worse. Quite honestly, Felicity was a bit worried about the girl and though she wasn't her legitimate mother, she knew that she was the closest thing the girl had and so she felt like she had to look after her.
When Dean's daughter decided on attending a small arts college in Rhode Island, Felicity looked into it further and saw that they were in need of a writing professor. Sending in her credentials and a resume, Felicity was quickly offered the position. Though she claims it wasn't to be closer to Dean's daughter and make sure that the girl was okay, it most definitely was. If anyone asks, she claims that the girl is her younger sister, since that's just the easiest way to explain things. Felicity is now entering into her second year of teaching at the school and admittedly, she's come to quite enjoy her job there. Even if she does seem like a bitter, ice bitch, she's quite happy to be there. Of course, she still writes pieces to send in to other local papers and is working on penning a novel as well.| A P P E A R A N C E |
Admittedly, Felicity is a rather stunning woman. She takes the utmost pride in keeping her appearances up, since obviously appearances are everything when making a first impression. She would die if she looked at all grungy or disheveled and takes a rather good bit of her time to make sure she looks her best every day. Overall, her features are rather normal, but together she likes to think that they make her look quite gorgeous. Her hair is a lighter brown, often either curled or left down in waves and her eyes are a particularly interesting shade of hazel.
She isn't particularly tall or short, standing at about 5'7. She's slightly on the taller side, however, when she wears her heels, which is generally always. She keeps herself in shape enough by eating well and exercising the proper amount, since obviously anything else would be quite unacceptable. She's very well groomed and is sure to take care of herself on a daily basis. She's the type that moisturizes daily and uses masks on her skin to keep it looking quite perfect. Fel likes to treat herself to spa days every so often, so she tends to have a rather decent skin complexion as well.
Along with her appearance being well maintained, Felicity also tends to ensure that her outfits are absolutely proper. She's very much a designer kind of girl and certainly could be considered miss prim and proper when considering her choice of clothes. She tends to wear very business like attire wherever she goes, no matter what the occasion. At times they'll border on being slightly too revealing, but obviously she wouldn't agree to that. She's quite convinced that she keeps it classy. Sort of.
